THE INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
How long did it take to get your first novel / book published?
It took almost a year.
What mistakes did you make with the publishing of your first book which you try not to repeat?
The first book was not well edited and that was a mistake.
Can you focus on working on two books or stories at the same time?
Yes, I often work on multiple ideas.
Is there a modus operandi you follow and formulate before you actually start writing your next book?
No, it’s all about my instincts, mood and the surroundings. These can change the course of the book in a second.
Does the writer’s block actually exist? Any tips you would give to come out of it.
Yes, definitely writers block exists and every writer goes through it sometime or the other in their life. Best way to get over writers block is to change your setting, change your mood, stop writing for a while and then start again after a while.
Travelling works for me. Going to new places and meeting new people too can create the magic. At times, maybe you could change the idea of the book and work on a different idea for a while. Along the way you may find your way back with the original idea.
Try doing something different because fatigue is a natural process which sets in sooner or later and the best way to get over fatigue is to not push yourself too mush. Let your mind and body relax before you start again.
What was the book that most influenced your life, and why?
One Indian Girl was the first book I ever read and people are often surprised when I share this. It is one book that has influenced me the most. I was never an avid reader before I started writing and One Indian Girl was the first ever book I finished in 2018. I loved the story line and Radhika’s bold decision towards the end. I would strongly recommend everyone to read this book.
How often do you read other novels? Who are your favourite authors?
Chetan Bhagat is my favorite author. Apart from this i read books by Ravinder Singh, Savi Sharma, Paulo Coelho.
