For the first time in Mumbai, Sharmila Tagore, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saba Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu came together to unveil the debut book of author / actor Soha Ali Khan titled “The Perils of Being Moderately Famous” in Mumbai yesterday.

While all the family members had their share of book readings, Kareena maintained a dignified distance and didn’t react much. Finally when the fashionable DIVA was asked about her relationship with her hubby’s sister, Kareena’s comments and revelations actually got tears in Soha’s eyes.

Kareena disclosed that, “I have never ever been intimidated by anyone ever in life. I have managed to find my way out. But within the family, I was actually in awe of Soha. Believe me, she is the true torchbearer of the Pataudi khandaan. Everyone goes up to her to resolve their problems. She’s just not articulate, well-bred but a true woman of substance. Even when there are times when we have to make a breakthrough with Saif’s Mom, it is always Soha who can find the way.”

Soha was so touched with these words and had tears in her eyes. This was noticed by the anchor on stage, who even asked Soha casually if it ‘was the wind which was playing havoc’. Meanwhile it was worth noticing Saif casually asking Kareena how she managed to come up with such a speech. From the lip-reading (gathered and zoomed in from our recording), we realised that this is what Kareena said, “All I said are the true facts, she is a torch-bearer!”

Kudos to the entire Pataudi khandaan who charmed the audiences with their wits, memorable anecdotes and insights into the life of a budding author!
